Baltic Bravery

This entry was posted on 2015-01-30 by Caroline.

Despite the conditions we managed 4 runners this week. 3 at Taunton on Tuesday where the ground was very sticky and holding. Canarbino Girl faded fast when travelling well and Mrs Jordan hated it from the moment she set off. Regal Flow saved the day with an incredibly brave effort in only his second chase start. Travelling and jumping well he was nearly brought down by a fallen horse and lost 20 lengths just as the leaders were quickening. Expecting James Best to pull up we turned away only to hear the commentator say he was plugging on gamely. We couldn't believe it he was storming home picking them off one by one with a superb, gutsy display of jumping to be 2nd. It was a great effort on ground he doesn't like so we are all looking forward to him running on good ground.

Posh Millie ran at Wincanton in attrocious conditions - blizzards in the paddock and the bottomless going was all too much for her to cope with, so she did well to keep going at all. There is a lot more to come from this mare when she strengthens up. Patience is a major requirement for all owners, but can be very rewarding in the end. **Posh Millie is looking for another person to join in to lease or buy a share. Please contact me if you are interested - 07768867424**

Entries next week include the long awaited return of Strawberry Hill who has entries at both Taunton and Huntingdon. Judge Davis also has an entry at Huntingdon but he will only run if ground is suitable.
