Easter Update

This entry was posted on 2015-04-06 by Caroline.

Well it has been a quiet weekend for us with our only runner being La Madonnina last Thursday at Taunton. She ran really well for her 2nd run over fences. Her jumping keeps her up with the pace but i still think she needs better ground. They had watered to maintain good ground and then it unfortunately drizzled all day! La Madonnina finished 4th running on and that was despite losing a front shoe and cutting her fetlock - much more promissing.

With the weather now set to improve we shall be able to turn out a few by day which always cheers them up.

This week we are back at Taunton on Thursday with Haverstock, in a tongue tie this time, and Quarryman will make his debut in the bumper. Hoping for genuine good ground so i hope they dont water too much!

Hopefully Strawberry Hill will run on Saturday at Chepstow. Back to 3m this time but on a more testing track so it should suit him.

Below are a few pictures of our Stratford runners last week :- Midnight Lira, Haverstock and Canarbino Girl.

On Friday Keevil Racing was represented at the Lambourn Open Day by our yardman Alex's son Arron - Arron was there with his pony Green As Grass to represent Pony Racing. He spent the day on the British Racing School stand promoting the Pony Races and had a great spin up the gallops as well. Most exciting of all was being able to talk to some of the senior jockeys, especially AP, who gave their time so generously for a great cause.

Arron rides for us at the weekends and in the school holidays as well as doing his own pony. If hard work and dedication is the way to success then Arron is sure to make the grade.
