Trip To Lambourn

This entry was posted on 2015-09-11 by Caroline.

Yesterday we took 5 of the more forward horses to Lambourn to use the all weather schooling ground and gallops. First up were Jack By The Hedge with Jack Sherwood, An Tarbh Og with James Best and Phil Thomas with Haverstock.  They worked at a good pace over the hurdles in preparation for their first runs and went well. Ian Popham and James then showed us how it should be done over the fences with the 2 Pros Bally Legend and  Regal Flow.
Ian then popped the fences for the first time with Haverstock. He was economical but v bold which was very encouraging and may give him a few more options in the future.
They all then worked up the 9 furlongs at the back of the hill and I couldn't have been happier with where they are at this moment.
It's such a treat for the horses and jockeys to be able to use the fabulous facilities at Lambourn. Iam especially grateful to Ian James and Jack who gave up their time to come and ride. We certainly have a lot to look forward to.
