News of our first runners.

This entry was posted on 2015-09-21 by Caroline.

We had a encouraging start to our Autumn campaign kicking off at Newton Abbott on Friday in the mares novice hurdle. Tambalong jumped well but appeared to struggle with her breathing again, whereas Palmaria really impressed me with her bravery. Having nearly been knocked over at the first hurdle she ran a super race to finish 6th just showing her greenness as she tired near the end.

On Sunday we headed to Uttoxeter with An Tarbh Og (pictured) and Canarbino Girl. An Tarbh Og ran a super race tracking the eventual winner but just flattened out in the last 2 furlongs finnishing 5th. His jumping was full of confidence which was great to see following his fall at Chepstow last season. He has been off the track for quite a while and will definetly come on for the run. I can't wait to see him over a fence! Canarbino Girl ran well, she loves the better ground but she doesn't truly stay 3m so a drop back in trip next time will see her to better effect. All horses came home safe and sound.

We have no runners this week but another cross country schooling trip is booked and also a couple of away gallops to bring on the next wave of runners.
