I appologise for the lack of trainers notes of late but the tragic loss of a talented young horse stunns everyone involved and numbs even the most possitive amongst us.... Jajamcool had blossomed this season into a potential star for us and for his owner Lady Sutton. We were so looking forward to his novice chase campaign. In the Autumn he had done everything asked of him and improved with every run, he was in the process of running another fine race when he suffered a heart attack - something no one could for see. The vets and everyone at Sandown were so kind and dealt with the situation with great sensitivety but it was devastating for us all especially Lady Sutton, James Best and Gemma, who looked after him everyday. Jammy will leave a big gap in our lives.

On a brighter note Mrs Winchester has had 2 encouraging runs over hurdles at Plumpton and Wincanton. She has come back much stronger after her year off and will be more competitive when she has a handicapp mark.

The ground is beginning to dry up and we have taken the opportunity to school some of Pat's pointers and the young hurdlers at Larkhill this week. Denny Kerrell and Knight ofthe Realm will run at Fontwell and Exeter next week so they had a nice breeze at Larkhill. Regal Flow showed the pointers Pyleigh Brae and Arctic Fern how it should be done over the all weather chase fences at Phillip Hobbs. Regal Flow will hopefully run at Sandown next Saturday if the ground continues to improve.
