Cheltanham Fever

This entry was posted on 2016-03-14 by Caroline.

Cheltenham week has finaly arrived and all the speculation and anticipation will be put behind us as the big guns take to the stage tomorrow. What a feast of fabulous horses we have to look forward to seeing.

Our own star boy Regal Flow is entered for the amateur race on Thursday but with 65 entries at the 5 day stage it is extremely doubtfull he will get a run. However the ground is finaly beginning to dry up which will give him some more opportunities in the next few weeks. Either Plumpton for the rearranged Sussex National or Cheltenham in April.

Denny Kerrell will have his first run over hurdles at either Kempton or Taunton after Fontwell was abandoned last week.

Pat's pointers have been waiting for better ground too but he managed to have a runner at Cothlestone on Sunday. Arctic Fern made her debut in the 2m4f maiden, she pulled up 3 from home but jumped well and coped with the whole day very professionally. Mike Legg said it was a promissing start and like most the Alflora's she will prefer better ground.
